Learning looked very different this morning without electricity. Here are a couple pictures of some of our students reading by lantern light. They also read “scary” stories and sang songs around a pretend campfire, learned about the discovery of electricity, and made real life connections with history and how things were different before electricity was discovered. We are all very thankful electricity was discovered! There was much celebration when it was restored....your very flexible teachers and staff, the most!

A picture of kindergartners from Ms. Cobb's class showing what they want to be when they grow up.
Last Wednesday, our Kindergartners learned about what living things need to survive and made their own terrariums. We are hoping to see some growth in the next couple weeks! Thank you to Longway Planetarium for helping out students learn these important science lessons!

Families ordering trees- There was an issue with the shipping of our trees. They will be shipped next week, and will be white pine trees! They should arrive mid-week and will be delivered to Barhitte. They should be sent home with students. If you are expecting a tree and do not have a Barhitte student, an email will be sent to you when they arrive! Kamohr@bentleyschools.org Proud to be a teacher at Bentley!!

Spring Book Fair
An educator from the Flint Institute of Arts came for the 1st of 3 special Art lessons with our Kindergartners. They learned about color, pattern, and used a new medium to make their own masterpieces. In other exciting news, one of our butterflies finally emerged from it’s chrysalis! We are anxious for the other 4 and to release them on our playground!

In this past month in Miss Williams’ SEL class, we learned all about the life cycle and taking care of baby chickens. We even had some eggs in an incubator! We waited 21 days until our eggs finally hatched! Thank you MSU 4-H for the amazing opportunity!
