Dear Bentley Middle School Families:
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I would like to start this letter off with a quick introduction. My name is Scott Bednarski, I am a proud 1994 graduate of Bentley High School. I start my 24th year of employment in the school district this year and this will be my third as the Middle School Principal. I have previously served as a coach, classroom teacher, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and Interim Principal. I am both excited and invigorated for the upcoming school year and feel honored to have been selected to lead this amazing school with an amazing staff. These hard-working professionals are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to get back to work to help our students excel. They recognize that to maximize your students' learning experience, however, we will need your help.
This year, we are looking forward to forging a stronger partnership with you than ever before. We believe that this will make a profound impact on your child’s educational experience. As partners, we will share in the responsibility of your children’s success and we want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. For your part, we are asking that you help guide and support your child by helping to ensure these five things:
That they:
- Attend school daily and arrive on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
- Understand the importance of the word RESPECT (respecting themselves, others, and their surroundings)
- Complete the daily classwork in a timely fashion
- Share their school experiences with you so that you are aware of their school life
- Inform you if they need additional support in any area or subject including social and emotional support
As a former coach, I’m a firm believer in the importance of having a T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) mentality. I also know how important it is to keep open communication lines. So I’m asking that if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the teachers or myself to seek clarity. I have found that when people “ask and not attack”, things get resolved in a much healthier fashion. It is my vision and goal to have every student, parent, and staff member feel as if they have a voice and that their concerns will be heard. Now, I’m realistic and I realize that there will be bumps in the road, as there is with every school year. However, if we live by the words of the great Henry Ford who stated, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success”, I believe we will be just fine!
In closing, I’m excited and looking forward to seeing both new and familiar faces at our open house on Wednesday, August 21st. However, if you would like to reach out beforehand, please contact me at 810-591-9061 or by email at [email protected]. Thank you and as always, Go Bulldogs!
