Building reading confidence 👊🏻📚
In Miss Williams’ SEL class, we read the book the What Ifs! We talked about how we can change our negative “what ifs” into positive ones! Then, we created our own “what ifs” showing our worries and how we can change them to positives!
At the Second grade “Invention Convention” students designed and presented their own inventions that solved real world problems. The goal was to create something new or improve an existing idea to solve a problem, make life easier, or simply have fun.
It was all about being creative, learning how to solve problems, and sharing new ideas!
Tomorrow is wear a shirt 👕👚 with writing on it day at Barhitte!
Just a reminder that the Lemonade War Family Project's are due next Monday, March 17. Spend these next few days thinking about warmer weather and the lemonade stands you COULD have this summer!🌞🍋

Bentley is making changes to all Red route bus stops. Check your email for details.
If you did not receive the email, it is imperative that you always update school officials with all your most recent contact information (https://www.bentleyschools.org). For security reasons, specific bus stop information will no longer be posted to the website or sent via mobile text.
Reading month is off to a GREAT start! Many classrooms are working on decorating their doors and hallway!🍋
There's also extra reading activities happening all over the building. Today some 4th grade students read to Mrs. Mojica's 1st grade classroom. Tomorrow is wear a hat with writing on it!

Students participated in a scavenger hunt today and enjoyed lemonade and cookies to begin reading month. Parents received bags and materials at parent/teacher conferences that were held last week. Bentley Community Schools Transportation Changes
We are making two announcements today to give parents/guardians a heads-up about upcoming changes to transportation.
First, we are making mid-season updates to our bus routes. Some students no longer need bus services, and new students have created the need for new stops. This has resulted in stop changes that may affect stop times and may include new route names:
Changes will be finalized and announced on the afternoon of Monday, February 24th.
The new stop schedule will begin on the morning of Tuesday, February 25th.
Recognizing that accidents, traffic, trains, weather, and other conditions may affect stop times, we ask that students be at their bus stop at least five minutes early to help us stay on schedule.
To ensure that you are receiving all transportation related notifications, please be sure that the schools have your current email address and mobile phone number (for texts). You can update that information in ParentVUE (Website or App) or by contacting the school offices (https://www.bentleyschools.org/).
Second, bus driver training has begun on the final stages of implementing the new transportation system so that parents will be able to get up-to-the-minute stop time information using a smartphone app. The app will be officially rolled out in test phases by route, beginning with the Red routes. Other routes will be announced in the coming weeks once we are confident that the app is working properly.
Official Red routes’ app testing will begin on the morning of Wednesday, February 26th. Another communication will be sent on Tuesday, February 25th to the Red routes’ parents/guardians on how to access the app.
