We want to give a huge shout-out today to Mrs. Tramel for organizing the visit, and to Mrs. VanVallis and Mr. Edmonds for accompanying and supporting our students at Michigan State today.
Opportunity can open doors that may not have felt possible before and today may have been one of those days for someone??
Around this time of year, many years ago, I went on my first college visit. College was not a topic in my household. A few family members had graduated high school, but higher education wasn’t viewed as a necessary step in life.
The expectation was simple: get through school and go work at GM, as generations before me had done. I decided to look for a different path. That first college visit started a journey that changed the trajectory of my life and led me to where I am today, writing this message to the Bentley Community.
College is not the only answer for students. But for some, it can be generationally transformative. Today’s visit may have DAY 1 that changes a life, a family, and a future.
Thank you again to our staff for creating opportunities, the community for giving us the ability to work with your kiddos and to our students for taking them.
