Welcome to Bentley Community Schools.  We are glad you have chosen to visit our website.  The Bentley Website, www.bentleyschools.org , was launched in November of 2005.  While staff and administrators have worked very diligently to make this site operative, there are still many changes and improvements to come.  I would urge you to visit our site often for the very latest updates.

John E. Schantz, II
Superintendent of Schools

John Schantz, II came to our district as Superintendent of Schools in March of 2005. He was previously the High School Principal of St. Charles Community Schools where he and his wife were life-long residents.  He possesses an Associates of Science in Pre-Engineering from Delta College, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with core subject areas of Physics and Mathematics from Saginaw Valley State University, and he earned a Masters Degree in Education, also from SVSU.  He began his educational career as a High School Math Teacher, which he taught for six years, then moved into his first administrative position as the Director of Curriculum and Technology.  Five years later, he accepted the position of Director of Instruction, Technology and Finance, which was soon to be followed by an opportunity to become the High School Principal, which he readily accepted.

Board of Education members are extremely enthused about the qualities Mr. Schantz brings to our community....strong leadership skills, experience in school finance, curriculum, and contract negotiations...as well as a very keen knowledge of computer technology.  Mr. Schantz is a visionary committed to making sure all students are offered “the best we can possibly give them”, whether they are vocationally or college bound students.

Having been raised on a farm with 13 siblings, moving to the Bentley District isn't totally foreign to him, as he was previously a BULLDOG in St. Charles....Go Bulldogs!!
